Telemagenta Pink 22mm × 4.8mm Painted Wafer Head Self Drilling Screws

Description

Our powder coated 22mm × 4.8mm wafer head self-drilling screws are engineered for secure, high-performance fixing into metal without the need for pre-drilling. These painted medium-to-heavy duty screws feature an integrated drill point capable of penetrating steel up to 3.0mm, delivering strong pull-up and excellent fixing confidence on thicker or layered materials.

The 22mm length combined with the wider 4.8mm thread makes this screw a firm favourite for hoarding, signage, display graphics and cladding installations. It offers increased thread engagement and superior holding strength while the wafer low-profile head sits flatter than traditional head styles, helping the fixing blend seamlessly into the finished surface.

RAL 4010 Telemagenta is a vivid, attention-grabbing shade perfect for bold branding and retail displays. On 22mm wafer head self-drillers, the low-profile head helps the fixing sit neatly within the overall design.

Specification

  • Length: 22mm
  • Thread Diameter: 4.8mm
  • Max Steel Thickness: 3.0mm
  • Head Type: Wafer low-profile head for a flat, unobtrusive finish
  • Drive: Phillips PH2 recess
  • Tip Type: Self-drilling point eliminates pilot holes and speeds up installation
  • Material: Carbon steel with Bright Zinc Plated base coating
  • Finish: Powder-coated to any RAL Classic colour; UV, scratch, weather & rust resistant; colourfast and durable

These 22mm wafer head self-drilling screws are widely used by signage installers, hoarding contractors, cladding specialists, shopfitters and display fabricators who need a low-profile fixing with extra bite. The longer length and thicker diameter provide excellent pull-out resistance when fixing through composite panels, ACM boards, sheet metal and light-gauge steel framing, while the wafer head keeps the finished look clean and professional.

Our precision powder-coating process fuses coloured powder at high temperature, creating a long-lasting finish that resists corrosion, fading and mechanical wear - even in demanding outdoor environments.

Frequently asked questions

What are 22mm wafer head self-drilling screws used for?

They're ideal for hoarding panels, signage, display graphics, cladding and sheet metal installations where extra fixing depth and holding strength are required, but a low-profile, discreet head finish is still essential.

What materials can these screws penetrate?

The self-drilling point is designed to drill and tap steel up to 3.0mm thick, as well as aluminium and light-gauge metal, without the need for a pilot hole.

Why choose 22mm × 4.8mm over smaller wafer head screws?

The increased length and diameter provide greater thread engagement and pull-up strength, making these screws better suited to thicker panels, layered substrates and external hoarding systems.

Can I choose a specific RAL colour?

Yes, we can powder-coat these screws to any RAL Classic colour to match your project requirements, ensuring consistent colour coordination across all visible fixings.

Powder coated screws

Here at RALfixings we believe it's the little details that make the big picture. That's why we powder coat all our screws and fixings to any RAL colour your project requires. Powder coating involves spraying the fixings with a coloured powder and then super-heating them to fuse this powder into a tough, protective layer. Powder coat finishes are more durable than painted finishes and can protect metal for as long as two decades.
