Oyster White 19mm × 4.2mm Painted Wafer Head Self Drilling Screws

Description

Our 19mm × 4.2mm wafer head self-drilling screws are engineered for fast, reliable fixing into metal without pre-drilling. Here at RALfixings we powder coat 4.2 × 19 wafer head self-drilling screws (PH2, wafer head, self-drilling point; max steel thickness 3.0mm) to any RAL Classic colour you require. These screws are designed to drill, tap and clamp in one clean operation - making them a go-to for busy site work where speed and consistency matter.

The 19mm length is a sweet spot for construction and signage: enough thread engagement for strong pull-up into light-gauge steel, sheet metal and framing, while the wafer low-profile head sits flatter and cleaner than taller head types. This makes the fixings far less visually intrusive, ideal for cladding, hoarding, fascia and graphics work where you want the screw to blend into the finished surface, not dominate it.

RAL 1013 Oyster White is a soft off-white with warm undertones, widely used on light cladding and interior fit-outs. On 19mm wafer head self-drillers, it creates a clean, discreet fixing that sits neatly against visible surfaces.

Specification

  • Length: 19mm
  • Thread Diameter: 4.2mm
  • Max Steel Thickness: 3.0mm
  • Head Type: Wafer low-profile head for a flat, unobtrusive finish
  • Drive: Phillips PH2 recess
  • Tip Type: Self-drilling point to eliminate pilot holes and speed up installation
  • Material: Carbon steel (Bright Zinc Plated base screw)
  • Compliance: CE Standard BS EN 14566:2008 (as per base screw platform)
  • Fire Classification: A1 (as per base screw platform)
  • Finish: Powder-coated to any RAL Classic colour: UV, scratch, weather & rust resistant; colourfast

These wafer head self-drillers are widely used by dryliners and ceiling contractors (metal stud track and ceiling track stitching), cladding installers, shopfitters, HVAC teams, and signage/graphics installers who need a low-profile fixing that sits neatly against thin materials. The self-drilling tip removes the pilot-hole step, helping you work faster while maintaining a clean, professional finish which is particularly important on visible cladding and signage.

Our precision powder-coating process fuses coloured powder at high temperature under electrolysis, creating a long-lasting finish that resists fading, corrosion, and mechanical wear for decades.

Frequently asked questions

What are 19mm self-drilling wafer head screws used for?

They’re ideal for fastening thin sheet metal, light-gauge steel framing and track systems, plus cladding, hoarding, fascia and signage where a flat, low-profile head helps the screw blend into the finished surface.

What materials can these screws penetrate?

The self-drilling point is designed to drill and tap steel up to 3.0mm thick, as well as aluminium and other light-gauge metal components, without the need for a pilot hole.

Why choose 19mm over shorter self-drilling screws?

19mm gives increased thread engagement and pull-up strength into framing and layered materials, while still keeping a neat finish thanks to the wafer low-profile head, ideal for cladding and graphics work.

Can I choose a specific RAL colour?

Yes, we can powder-coat these screws to any RAL Classic colour to match your project requirements, ensuring consistent colour coordination across all visible fixings.

Powder coated screws

Here at RALfixings we believe it's the little details that make the big picture. That's why we powder coat all our screws and fixings to any RAL colour your project requires. Powder coating involves spraying the fixings with a coloured powder then super-heating them to fuse this powder into a protective layer. Powder coat finishes are more durable than painted finishes and can protect metal for as long as two decades.
