Description
Grey beige is a warm, muted neutral that sits at the softer end of the architectural palette. These 19mm x 4.2mm hex head self-drilling tek bolts in RAL 1019 Grey Beige are powder coated to match the understated, sand-influenced tone used across contemporary cladding rail systems, light steel framing and architectural metalwork where a refined, warm neutral has been specified on the face of the structure. On a steel surface in this colour, a bright zinc hex head reads as a cold, metallic intrusion against a tone chosen for its warmth and restraint.
The self-drilling Tek point cuts directly into light-gauge steel up to 3.0mm thick without pre-drilling, removing a step from installation on cladding rail and purlin fixing work. The 10mm effective thread length and hex head washer face spread clamping load across the steel substrate, and the 1/4" hex drive is compatible with standard impact drivers and hex socket nut runners for fast, controlled installation.
These bolts are designed for steel-to-steel fixing applications only. For timber, plastic or composite panel substrates, the flange head self-tapping range is the correct specification. The 19mm length provides additional thread engagement over the 13mm version, suited to connections where the combined material and substrate build-up is greater.
RAL 1019 Grey Beige
RAL 1019 Grey Beige is a mid-tone neutral sitting between beige and grey, with a warm sandy undertone that gives it a natural, composed character. On steel structures and cladding rail systems, this colour appears where a warm, recessive neutral has been chosen as an alternative to the cool greys that dominate standard steel finish specifications. It sits naturally alongside natural material cladding, rendered facades and contemporary architectural metalwork in earth-toned palettes.
Each bolt head is powder coated to the exact RAL Classic standard for this colour, producing a head that integrates with the metalwork rather than reading as a bright dot against it. On steel structures where hex head bolts are visible at regular fixing centres, that colour match holds the appearance of the metalwork together across the full elevation.
All RAL colours in the RALfixings range are held in stock for immediate dispatch without special order lead times on live project schedules.
Suitable Applications
19mm RAL 1019 Grey Beige hex head self-drilling tek bolts are used across:
- Fixing cladding rails to structural steel where a warm grey-beige colour-matched fixing is required
- Light-gauge steel framing, purlins and lintels finished in grey beige or warm sandy neutral
- Metal roofing sheets, flashings and roof structure connections in warm neutral colour schemes
- HVAC ductwork, sheet metal fabrication and metal panel installations in RAL 1019
- Architectural metalwork and exposed steel structures in contemporary earth-toned palettes

Frequently Asked Questions
How does RAL 1019 Grey Beige differ from RAL 7032 Pebble Grey on steel structures?
RAL 7032 Pebble Grey is a warmer, more clearly grey-influenced tone with a mineral, stone-like quality and more depth than RAL 1019. RAL 1019 Grey Beige sits between beige and grey, with a sandy warmth that gives it a softer, more neutral quality. If your steel structure reads as a warm mid-tone neutral sitting closer to sand than to stone grey, RAL 1019 is the correct specification.
Do these bolts require pre-drilling?
No. The self-drilling Tek point cuts its own hole and forms the thread as it is driven into the substrate, removing the need to pre-drill. These bolts are rated for light section steel up to 3.0mm thick. For substrates thicker than 3.0mm, a different fixing specification is required.
When should I use the 19mm length instead of the 13mm?
The 19mm length provides greater thread engagement and is the right choice where the combined thickness of the fixed material and substrate is greater, where panel or sheet build-up sits proud of the steel, or where additional grip length is needed beyond what the 13mm offers. For thin sheet-to-steel connections where a short fixing length is sufficient, the 13mm version is the correct specification.
Can these be used on timber or plastic substrates?
No. These hex head self-drilling tek bolts are designed for steel-to-steel applications only. For timber, plastic or composite panel substrates, the RALfixings flange head self-tapping range is the correct product.
How quickly can you deliver?
RAL 1019 Grey Beige is held in stock. Most orders dispatch next working day on a tracked 24-hour service. Larger volume orders typically ship within 3 to 5 working days.
Powder Coated Screws
RALfixings exists to give contractors and specifiers access to colour-matched visible fixings without the compromise of bright zinc heads on exposed metalwork. Every fixing in the range is powder coated in-house to exact RAL Classic colour standards, with consistent batch-to-batch colour accuracy across every pack size.
The electrostatic powder coating process deposits a fine layer of thermoset pigment onto the bolt head, which is then cured under heat to form a hard, permanently bonded shell. This finish outperforms wet paint across every measurable category: adhesion, hardness, chip resistance, UV stability and colour consistency across production runs.
Benefits of powder coated hex head tek bolts:
- Scratch resistant
- Rust resistant
- UV resistant
- Weather resistant
- Colourfast
Other Colour Options
These 19mm x 4.2mm hex head self-drilling tek bolts are available in over 60 colour-matched RAL finishes for cladding, roofing and exposed steel metalwork.

Recommended applications
Designed for fixing cladding rails, purlins, and light steel framing to structural steel substrates. The powder-coated hex head matches your panel or cladding RAL precisely, eliminating visible bright metal fixings on exposed metalwork. The self-drilling point removes the need for pre-drilling in light gauge steel.
At 19mm, these bolts provide greater thread engagement than the 13mm version, suited to connections where panel or sheet build-up sits proud of the steel or where additional grip length is required. The 1/4" hex drive (6.35mm) is compatible with standard impact drivers and hex socket nut runners.
Not recommended for timber or plastic substrates. For non-steel applications, use our flange head self tapping range.
