Description
When a fixing point sits on the face of a finished panel, it needs to earn its place. These 25mm x 4.2mm painted flange head self tapping screws in RAL 9016 Traffic White deliver a factory-matched colour finish that blends with white hoarding panels, signage boards and commercial cladding, turning an otherwise visible fixing into a clean, professional detail.
At 25mm, these screws provide greater thread engagement than shorter alternatives, making them the right choice where substrates are thicker, timber battens sit behind the panel, or additional pull-out resistance is required against wind loading on exposed hoarding installations.
The integrated flange head spreads clamping force across a wider footprint than pan head or countersunk designs, holding thin ACM sheets and composite boards flat without the dimpling or cracking that concentrated point loads can cause. Combined with a Pozi PZ2 recess, the drive engagement is positive and cam-out is minimal even at higher torque settings.
A 60° self-tapping thread and AB point allow these screws to cut directly into light-gauge steel and sheet metal frames without pre-drilling. For timber subframes, the thread pulls the screw through cleanly with strong holding power in softwood battens.
RAL 9016 Traffic White: The Go-To White
Ask any signage installer or cladding contractor which white they use most and the answer is almost always RAL 9016 Traffic White. It is the standard bright white across commercial signage, road infrastructure, industrial panelling and general-purpose white cladding systems throughout the UK.
Each screw head is powder coated in RAL 9016 Traffic White, providing a crisp, clean finish that sits flush with white panels and printed hoarding graphics. On large panel runs where dozens or hundreds of fixings are visible, the colour-matched head eliminates the scattered metallic dots that standard zinc screws leave behind.
As one of our best-selling colours, Traffic White is permanently stocked in volume. It is a cooler, slightly brighter white than RAL 9010 Pure White, making it the preferred specification for modern commercial developments, retail hoardings and clean-line architectural panel systems.
Every RAL colour in our range ships from stock, giving site managers and procurement teams fast access to colour-matched fixings without project delays.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I use 25mm screws instead of 19mm?
The 25mm length provides additional thread engagement for thicker substrates, deeper timber battens or double-skin panel assemblies. Where the 19mm version is ideal for single-skin sheet metal connections, the 25mm gives extra grip and pull-out resistance in applications where a longer reach is needed through the panel and into the frame behind.
Can these be used for fixing hoarding panels to timber frames?
Yes. The 25mm length and self-tapping thread make these screws effective for fixing panels to timber battens and stud frames commonly used on construction hoarding. The flange head prevents over-penetration into the panel face while the extra length provides solid engagement into the timber.
Are these the same quality as unpainted TIMCO screws?
These are genuine TIMCO flange head self tapping screws manufactured to BS 4174:1972. The only modification is the addition of a powder-coated head finish applied by RALfixings. The thread, point and mechanical performance remain identical to the standard zinc version.
How quickly can you deliver?
All RAL colours are held in stock. Most orders dispatch next working day on a tracked 24-hour service. Larger volume orders typically ship within 3 to 5 working days.
Powder Coated Screws
RALfixings exists to solve one problem: giving contractors and specifiers access to colour-matched visible fixings without the hassle of painting screws on site or accepting mismatched alternatives. Every screw in our range is powder coated in-house to exact RAL Classic colour standards.
The electrostatic powder coating process deposits a fine layer of thermoset pigment onto the screw head, which is then cured under heat to form a hard, permanently bonded shell. This finish outperforms wet paint in every measurable category — adhesion, hardness, chip resistance, UV stability and colour consistency across production runs.
Benefits of powder coated self tapping screws:
- Scratch resistant
- Rust resistant
- UV resistant
- Weather resistant
- Colourfast
Other Colour Options
These 25mm x 4.2mm painted flange head self tapping screws are available in over 60 colour-matched RAL finishes for hoarding panels, signage and visible metalwork.
