Description
Yellow panel systems demand colour-matched fixings more obviously than almost any other colour. A zinc screw head on a sulphur yellow hoarding board or safety panel reads immediately as a fault in the finish. These 25mm x 4.2mm flange head self tapping screws in RAL 1016 Sulphur Yellow are powder coated to match the bright, saturated yellow used across construction hoarding, hazard signage and high-visibility architectural panels, keeping every fixing point consistent with the surface it sits on.
The 25mm length is the right choice where the panel substrate has depth behind it. Timber batten frames on construction hoarding, composite panel systems with a backing layer, and installations where wind loading demands positive pull-out resistance all benefit from the extended thread engagement the 25mm provides over shorter alternatives. The screw reaches through the panel face and bites solidly into the frame below.
The flange head is designed for face-fixed panel work. Its wide bearing surface holds the panel flat under clamping force without the surface stress that narrower head designs concentrate at a single point. On printed Foamex, rigid PVC and ACM boards, this matters. The Pozi PZ2 recess drives positively at installation torque with minimal cam-out, leaving the head surface and powder coat intact after fixing.
A 60° self-tapping thread and AB point cut directly into light-gauge steel and sheet metal frames without pre-drilling. The thread bites cleanly into softwood timber battens and holds firmly, making these screws effective across both the steel and timber subframes commonly used in hoarding and panel installations.
RAL 1016 Sulphur Yellow
RAL 1016 Sulphur Yellow is a high-chroma, cold-toned yellow. It sits closer to a lime-influenced yellow than a warm golden tone, which gives it strong contrast and visibility against both light and dark backgrounds. This makes it a standard specification colour for hazard and safety applications as well as a popular choice in branding, sports facilities and architectural installations where yellow is required to read clearly at distance.
Each screw head is powder coated to the exact RAL 1016 Classic standard. On yellow panel runs where fixings are visible across the full face of the installation, a zinc or grey screw head creates a repeated contrast point that undermines the finished appearance. Colour-matched heads in RAL 1016 sit within the panel surface rather than against it, whether the installation is a temporary hoarding board or a permanent architectural feature.
Yellow is one of the more demanding colours to match with standard off-the-shelf fixings. The saturated chroma of RAL 1016 means any deviation in the fixing colour is immediately visible. Powder coating to the exact RAL Classic standard is the only reliable way to achieve a consistent match across an installation.
All RAL colours in the RALfixings range are held in stock, giving site teams and procurement managers fast access without waiting on special orders or custom production runs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is RAL 1016 Sulphur Yellow typically used on construction and signage installations?
RAL 1016 Sulphur Yellow appears on high-visibility hoarding panels, safety signage boards, hazard warning installations and plant and equipment enclosures where a bright, saturated yellow is specified. It is also used on sports and leisure facilities, children's play equipment structures and architectural feature panels where a strong yellow is part of the design scheme.
When should I use 25mm screws instead of 19mm?
The 25mm length provides additional thread engagement for thicker substrates, deeper timber battens and double-skin panel assemblies. Where the 19mm version suits single-skin sheet metal connections, the 25mm delivers extra grip and pull-out resistance when the screw needs to pass through the panel face and reach solidly into the frame behind.
Can these be used to fix hoarding panels to timber frames?
Yes. The 25mm length and self-tapping AB point thread make these screws well suited to fixing panels to the timber battens and stud frames used on construction hoarding. The flange head distributes clamping force across a wide footprint to hold the panel flat, while the extra length provides firm engagement into the timber behind.
How quickly can you deliver?
RAL 1016 Sulphur Yellow is held in stock. Most orders dispatch next working day on a tracked 24-hour service. Larger volume orders typically ship within 3 to 5 working days.
Powder Coated Screws
RALfixings exists to give contractors and specifiers access to colour-matched visible fixings without painting screws on site or accepting a close-but-wrong alternative. Every screw in the range is powder coated in-house to exact RAL Classic colour standards, with consistent colour accuracy across every batch and pack size.
The electrostatic powder coating process deposits a fine layer of thermoset pigment onto the screw head, which is then cured under heat to form a hard, permanently bonded shell. This finish outperforms wet paint in adhesion, hardness, chip resistance, UV stability and colour consistency across production runs.
Benefits of powder coated self tapping screws:
- Scratch resistant
- Rust resistant
- UV resistant
- Weather resistant
- Colourfast
Other Colour Options
These 25mm x 4.2mm painted flange head self tapping screws are available in over 60 colour-matched RAL finishes for hoarding panels, signage and visible metalwork.

Recommended applications
Designed for fixing ACM panels, composite cladding, and timber facade boards to timber battens and structural substrates. The powder-coated head matches your panel RAL precisely, eliminating visible bright metal fixings against the facade surface.
Pre-drilling recommended for hardwoods over 20mm density. The flange head spreads clamping force across a wider footprint, reducing surface pitting and preventing pull-through on thinner sheet materials.
Not recommended for fixing into steel framing — use our self-drilling range for steel substrates.
