Description
DeckingPro™ DS50 in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey are 4.5 x 50mm A2 stainless steel decking screws developed for face-fixing composite and timber decking boards, fascia boards, riser boards, stair strings, and perimeter framing where a hidden clip system cannot be used. The deep blue-grey of RAL 7016 is equally at home on dark-stained hardwood and softwood timber decking, where the head tone sits naturally against the board surface rather than reading as a contrasting silver element.
Designed for landscape contractors and DIY installers working with composite and timber decking, DeckingPro™ DS50 screws provide consistent thread engagement through the board and into the timber subframe, combining the structural performance of a purpose-built decking screw with a colour-matched powder coated head that sits flush and virtually disappears into the board surface.
Where visible fixings are required on steps, risers, fascia boards, perimeter boards and decking edges, DeckingPro™ provides a colour-matched screw engineered to blend with the board rather than interrupt it. The double countersunk head pulls cleanly below the board surface, and the PZ2 drive provides reliable torque transfer without cam-out under power driving.
The sharp point and single-start thread allow efficient installation directly into hardwood-capped composite boards and softwood or treated timber joists without pre-drilling in most standard applications.
Colour-Matched for a Professional Outdoor Finish
RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey is the dominant colour in UK composite decking. It is a confirmed colour match for Dino Decking Anthracite, and closely matches the charcoal and black-grey board variants from leading UK brands. It is also widely compatible with anthracite aluminium decking subframes, anthracite powder-coated balustrade systems, and anthracite bi-fold door frames, making it the single most versatile fixing colour for contemporary outdoor spaces.
The screw head is powder coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, allowing the fixing to integrate cleanly with dark boards and disappear against the surface rather than drawing the eye. Whether used on a main deck field, a fascia board wrap, or a staircase riser, the fixing reads as part of the board rather than a break in it.
All 8 DeckingPro™ RAL colours are stocked for same or next working day dispatch, enabling contractors and homeowners to maintain colour consistency across fascia, riser, and perimeter fixings on the same project.

Frequently asked questions
Which decking boards does RAL 7016 match?
RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey is a confirmed colour match for Dino Decking Anthracite and is the closest available RAL match to Cladco Charcoal and Ultradecking dark grey boards. It also suits dark-stained hardwood and softwood timber decking in anthracite and charcoal finishes. Composite boards do not carry published RAL codes and colour can vary between batches. We recommend ordering a sample or checking our colour matching guide before placing a full order.
Can these be used on hardwood and softwood timber decking?
Yes. DeckingPro™ DS50 screws are manufactured from A2-304 stainless steel, suitable for softwood, hardwood, and corrosive timber species including green oak and cedar. The anthracite grey powder coated head suits dark-stained, ebonised, or naturally dark hardwood and softwood boards where a colour-matched fixing is preferable to a standard silver head. Pre-drilling with a 3.5mm pilot hole is recommended for hardwood boards and fixings close to board edges.
Do I need to pre-drill for these screws?
For composite boards and softwood joists, pre-drilling is not required in most standard applications. For hardwood boards, hardwood joists, or fixings within 15mm of board edges, a 3.5mm pilot hole is recommended to prevent splitting.
What size screws do I need for composite decking?
For standard composite boards of 20 to 22mm thickness on softwood or treated timber joists, the 50mm length provides adequate penetration depth. For thicker boards (25mm+), boards fixed to hardwood joists, or areas subject to high foot traffic such as stair treads, use the 65mm DS65 variant for increased pull-out resistance.
Are these screws suitable for outdoor use?
DeckingPro™ DS50 screws are manufactured from A2-304 stainless steel, which provides strong corrosion resistance for standard UK outdoor environments including gardens, terraces, and commercial decking installations.
How many screws do I need per square metre of decking?
For a standard deck with boards fixed at both edges per joist bay, you will typically need 10 to 14 screws per square metre depending on board width and joist spacing. A 15m² deck will typically require 150 to 200 screws. Our 200-pack is sized to cover a standard project.
What are the delivery and lead times on DeckingPro™ screws?
All 8 DeckingPro™ stocked colours are available for same or next working day dispatch on a tracked 24-hour delivery service. Larger trade orders typically dispatch within 1 to 2 working days.
